Some of the most important work happens when we step outside the consulting room. Nature-based therapy brings the therapeutic relationship into parks, trails, and gardens — places where the pace slows, the nervous system settles, and a different kind of conversation becomes possible.

How it works

Sessions are held in pre-arranged outdoor locations in and around Pittsburgh. We walk, sit, and pay attention together. Sometimes we talk the whole time. Sometimes we let a long stretch of quiet do the work.

The natural world becomes a collaborator — not a backdrop. The weather, the season, the birdsong, and the terrain are all part of what the session can draw on.

Who it's for

Adults who feel more at ease outdoors, or who want to work with the pace, scale, and sensory richness of the natural world as part of the therapy. People navigating grief, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, or a sense of disconnection often find nature-based work especially grounding.

Practical notes

Sessions go rain or shine within reason. We'll discuss accessibility, location, clothing, and privacy considerations before your first outdoor session. Indoor alternatives are always available.
